About Us
CIT Trucks was founded and incorporated on November 6, 1975 as Central Illinois Kenworth Sales and Service, Inc. The company headquarters are located in Normal, Illinois and today owns four separate truck franchises in fifteen locations and employs over 900 people at locations in Normal, La Salle-Peru, Springfield, Pleasant Plains, Morton, Atlanta, Champaign, Wood Dale, Joliet, Troy, Grayslake, Rockford, and Mokena, Illinois along with Fenton, Missouri.
CIT Trucks is in business to serve our customers with the best line-up of medium and heavy-duty trucks, related equipment, the most complete inventory of parts, and the highest quality of mechanical and body repair services available.

bensenville relocating to Wood Dale

To better serve our customers, we are moving our Bensenville, IL store to now offer a full-service facility in Wood Dale. The new dealership will include Truck Sales, Parts, Service, Leasing, and Finance!
CIT Trucks is Expanding to Green Oaks
2023
CIT Trucks is finalizing plans to break-ground on a new full service dealership in Green Oaks, Illinois to serve our northern Illinois and Wisconsin customers traveling the I-94 corridor.

CIT Trucks wins 2021 Successful Dealer Award from Truck Parts and Service Magazine. This is the first time CIT Trucks has won the Successful Dealer Award after previously being a finalist in 2014 and 2017. It is a great honor to be awarded this distinction as a dealer.

Bensenville Location Relocates to Better Serve Chicagoland Customers

Our Bensenville retail parts distribution center relocated to a new 52,000 sq.ft facility to better serve our current customers and act as our Northern distribution center. Used Truck Sales and Leasing will also be offered at this facility.
LaSalle Dealership Moves to Completely Renovated Peru Location
November 2018
CIT Trucks – LaSalle was relocated to the completely renovated campus of our previous Peru, Illinois dealership and now operates as Peru Mack.
Peru Dealership Expands to Brand New Building off of I-80

We relocated our Peru, Illinois Kenworth and Volvo dealership to a 45,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art dealership conveniently located at the intersection of Interstates 80 and 39.
Normal, Illinois Dealership Undergoes Full Remodel

CIT Trucks dealership in Normal, Illinois completed a full-remodel including interior redesign and many exterior improvements.
Champaign Locations Remodels Expanding Service

Our Champaign location underwent a remodel including 13,000 square feet of service space.
CIT Trucks Purchases St. Louis Kenworth Dealership
October 2015
CIT Trucks purchased the assets of Kenworth of St. Louis. The dealership located in Fenton, Missouri underwent a complete renovation including facility interior and exterior along with adjacent grounds and customer parking areas.
Company Begins Operating Under New Name – CIT Trucks
January 2015
2015 saw the introduction of our new company name, operating all locations under the CIT Trucks brand.
Morton Location Completes Extensive Remodel and Addition
August 2014
Our Morton location underwent an extensive remodel and expansion adding an additional 11,000 sq. ft to the facility.
Mokena Dealership Opens on I-80 to Serve Chicagoland Market
November 2013
A new 38,000 square foot full-service dealership was opened in Mokena, Illinois on Interstate 80.
Northern Illinois Mack Acquired, Adding 3 Locations & Mack Franchise
June 2012
In 2012, we purchased Northern Illinois Mack, Inc. and Rockford Truck Sales, Inc. with locations in Grayslake, Rockford, and La Salle adding Mack Trucks to our franchises.
Full Service Dealership Opens in Troy, Illinois

Our Edwardsville location moved to a new 32,000 square foot full service dealership in Troy, Illinois, on Interstates 55 and 270.
Finance Division Added to Company Offerings
May 2011
The company continued to expand as we formed our own finance company that currently operates as Central Truck Finance, a division of CIT Trucks.
Expands Kenworth Franchise to Southern Illinois
April 2011
CIT Trucks was granted the Kenworth Truck franchise for southern Illinois and eastern Missouri with the opening of a retail parts distribution center in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Leasing Division Added to Company Offerings
May 2006
The company opened a truck leasing division, currently operating as Central Truck Leasing, a division of CIT Trucks.
Two Locations Relocate to their Current Facilities: Joliet & Champaign
April 2006
Two locations moved to new facilities: Shorewood relocated to a new 30,000 square foot full-service dealership in Joliet, Illinois, on Interstates 55 and 80. Urbana also moved to a new 22,000 square foot facility in Champaign, Illinois located at Interstates 57 and 74.
Springfield Location Completes Full Remodel Plus Addition

Our Springfield location underwent a remodel and almost doubled in size to it’s current 22,000 square foot facility.
Kenworth Truck Franchise Expands to Include Chicago Area
April 2004
CIT Trucks was granted the Kenworth Truck franchise for the Chicago area. We opened a service dealership in Shorewood, Illinois, and a retail parts distribution center in Bensenville, Illinois
Two Fleet Maintenance Facilities Opened: Pleasant Plains & Atlanta

Fifth Full-Service Dealership Opens to Serve Champaign-Urbana

Fourth Full-Service Dealership Opens off of I-74 in Morton

We opened our fourth dealership location in a 39,000 square foot facility on Interstate 74 in Morton, Illinois.

Normal Dealership Relocates Expanded Body Shop

Our existing Body Shop operation moved into a new, 25,000 square foot, state-of-the-art building in Normal, Illinois.
Third Full-Service Dealership Opens to Serve Capitol City
August 1995
A new facility was built to house our third dealership location on Interstate 55 in Springfield, Illinois.
Company Expands to Second Dealership in Peru, Illinois
March 1989
We opened a second dealership location on Interstate 80 in Peru, Illinois.
Isuzu Trucks Franchise Added
December 1985
An Isuzu Truck of America franchise was added to our product line-up.
Company Expands to Include Volvo Trucks Franchise

A Volvo franchise was purchased in addition to the existing Kenworth franchise and the company began operating under the name Central Illinois Trucks, Inc.
Flagship Dealership in Normal Relocates to Current Location

The original Normal, Illinois dealership relocated to its present 57,000 square foot facility on Northtown Road.
