Effective July 9, 2016, Christopher Spear will be the President and CEO of American Trucking Associations.
ATA has been looking for a new CEO since October. Chosen from about two dozen candidates, Spear was given a five-year contract. ATA’s current President and CEO, Bill Graves, is staying on for the remainder of this year as an adviser.
Spear is leaving his position of vice president of Hyundai Motor Co.’s government affairs and returning to ATA. From March 2014 to September 2015, Spear was ATA’s senior vice president of legislative affairs. He is honored for this new opportunity and believes, “trucking is the backbone of our economy and a catalyst for American job growth, delivering critical goods to businesses and homes coast-to-coast.”
